Everest View trek: quick planning answers

1 min read

How many days is the Everest View trek?

Most plans take 6 to 9 days from Kathmandu, with 7 days the most common. Allow a spare day for flight delays.

Can I see Everest from the Everest View trek?

Yes. Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and Thamserku are visible from the Everest View Hotel, Khumjung and Tengboche on clear days. Early mornings are best.

Is it a good first Himalayan trek?

Yes. It is short, the maximum height is modest and lodges are comfortable. Good fitness and a rest day in Namche are still important.

Do I need a guide?

Plan to trek with a licensed guide. It improves safety, helps with lodges and flights and explains the culture.

Which month is best?

October, November, March, April and May are the best months. Winter is possible, but cold, and the monsoon is not recommended.

Can I get to Everest Base Camp from here?

Not on this trek, which stays below about 3,900 m. You can continue to Base Camp with a longer plan of around two weeks.

Should I book early?

For October and April, book two to three months ahead to secure flights and lodges.
