Small deposit in India. Balance in Nepal.
See Everest from the trail and from the sky in one week. This 7-day Everest View helicopter trek from Kathmandu combines a short walk through Sherpa country with a morning helicopter tour of the Everest region, so you reach the mountain's highest viewpoints without the long climb.
You fly to Lukla, walk through Phakding to Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa capital, and spend a day acclimatizing and exploring the town. On Day 5, you board a helicopter for a flyover of Everest Base Camp and the Khumbu Icefall, then land at Kala Patthar (about 5,545m) for the classic front-face view of Everest. After taking in the 360-degree panorama, you fly back to Lukla and skip the days of descent on foot. Guides and porters support you on the trail, and a farewell dinner in Kathmandu closes the trip.
Helicopter and Lukla flights depend on the weather, so we recommend adding at least one spare day in Kathmandu. Choose your dates and book your place for the fastest way to see Everest up close.
Off Season Supplement: Applies from Nov 15th to March 1st and between May 15th and Sept 15th.
During the off season shared helicopter availability is uncertain and we may need to charter a private helicopter for guests. In this case a supplement of $1300 will be charged to solo travelers and $300 per/person for groups less than 3 people. If a shared helicopter is available this fee will be waived.
Before you pay a deposit for your Nepal trek, read our booking terms and conditions. They explain what your trek price covers, which costs are extra, and what happens if flights are delayed or your plans change.
These are the sections trekkers check most often:
Not sure about something? Call or WhatsApp us on +91 932 595 1234, or send us a message. We will explain any term before you book.
Our full Everest Base Camp packing checklist covers every item with practical advice. You can also download the packing list as a PDF to print or keep on your phone.
If something is missing when you reach Kathmandu, you can buy or rent almost any trekking gear there at reasonable prices. Buy your hiking boots before you travel, though, and break them in, because a good fit matters more than anything else you carry.
A few practical points before you pack:
A short programme for people with limited time: you fly to Lukla, walk to Namche Bazaar, rest for a day, and then take a shared helicopter from Namche for a flight over Everest Base Camp and the Khumbu Icefall.
On Day 5 it picks you up at Namche Bazaar, flies over Everest Base Camp and the Khumbu Icefall, lands at Kala Patthar (about 5,545m) and then takes you back to Lukla. The flight is a flyover of Base Camp, not a landing there.
Yes, a shared Everest helicopter tour from Namche is in the inclusions. It is not private.
No. You walk from Lukla to Phakding and on to Namche Bazaar, and that is the extent of the trek. Base Camp and Kala Patthar are reached by air.
Day 1 Kathmandu, Day 2 flight to Lukla and walk to Phakding, Day 3 Namche Bazaar, Day 4 rest and optional hike to Everest View Point, Day 5 helicopter and back to Lukla, Day 6 flight to Kathmandu, Day 7 departure.
No. Helicopters fly only in safe weather. If Day 5 is cancelled, we look for another window if your schedule allows. Keep spare days in your plans.
They depart from and return to Ramechhap, mainly in peak season. You drive about 5 to 6 hours each way, depending on road conditions, with an early start around 2am on Day 2.
We rebook you on the next flight. Extra hotel nights and meals are your cost, and no refund is made for unused days. Book a flexible onward ticket.
February to May and September to December. The monsoon is very wet, and winter snow can close higher trails and delay flights.
Basic fitness. Walking days are 3 to 6 hours, and Namche (3,440m) is the highest night. You should be comfortable with stairs and uphill.
Mild symptoms are possible at Namche, and the helicopter takes you to 5,545m for a short time. Tell your guide if you feel unwell, and follow their advice. The rest day helps.
Many families and older travellers do it, but check with your doctor, especially for the altitude. Tell us the ages and health of your group.
Two nights in Kathmandu with breakfast, round-trip flights between Ramechhap and Lukla, the shared helicopter, trekking accommodation, airport transfers, permits and TIMS, a licensed guide, porter service, taxes, a first aid kit, a certificate and a farewell dinner. Meals are included on 5 of the 7 days.
Travel insurance, visa, bottled water, the two meals not covered, gear rental (about INR 100 per item per day for a sleeping bag or down jacket), tips and pocket money. Plan about INR 1,000 per day.
Insurance is mandatory. It must cover trekking at your highest altitude, emergency medical treatment and helicopter evacuation. Send us a copy before you travel, and see the insurance section of our terms.

Pay a deposit to book. Indian guests pay by bank transfer or UPI, since we do not take credit cards in India. Guests outside India can pay by transfer or online card (4.5% processing fee). You pay the balance at our Kathmandu office on arrival in INR, USD, EUR, GBP or another major currency, at the NPR conversion rate on the date of payment (local conversion charges apply). Cards used in Nepal add 13%, so cash is cheaper.
50% is refundable for 30 days after you book, and after that it is not. The deposit stays valid for 365 days and can be moved to any trek or climb we offer. If you do not contact us and do not arrive, it is forfeited.
Yes. Rescheduling is free as many times as you need with at least 6 weeks' notice. With 2 to 6 weeks' notice a fee of INR 5,000 (Indian guests) or USD 100 (other guests) applies, and any change needs at least 14 days' notice. You pay any price difference between the old and new date.
We cannot refund unused days or services, because guides, porters and hotels are paid for the full period. We help you return, but extra nights, meals and transport are your cost. Some insurers reimburse unused days, so check your policy.
There is no single supplement. Rooms are shared by gender, and couples, families and friends share together. In Kathmandu you share a twin room, or get a single room at no charge if no one of your gender is booked on your dates. On the trek, rooms are twin-sharing. If you are the only person booked on a fixed departure, or you are not joining a group, a Solo Support Fee of INR 1,500 per trekking day covers a dedicated porter. If the fee is not paid and you are the only person booked on your dates, there is no separate licensed trek guide, and a porter-cum-guide leads the trek. We tell you at booking, or as soon as it arises.
Your guide, porters and drivers, and our Kathmandu office staff, are all employed by Himalayan Wonders Adventure Pvt. Ltd., the Nepal operator that runs your trip. Read about them on the team page.
Tell us your group, your dates and your budget. We will shape this trek around you.
