The best seasons for the Api and Saipal treks are April to May and September to November. Winter brings snow, and the monsoon brings heavy rain and landslides in the far west.
Spring
April and May are warm, with flowers and good views.
Autumn
September to November are dry and clear. Late October is a favourite.
Winter
Cold, with snow on higher trails. Not recommended.
Monsoon
Heavy rain, leeches and landslides. Avoid.
Temperatures
Lower valleys are hot in spring and cooler in autumn. Higher camps are cold at night in every season.
Flights and roads
Flights and roads are most reliable in the dry months. Avoid the monsoon.
