Our 14-day Everest Base Camp trek package is priced at USD 1,699 per person for travellers who are not Indian citizens. This page explains what that dollar price covers and what you still need to budget for on top.
What the USD 1,699 covers
The price is for our Everest Base Camp trek, 14 days. It includes a licensed guide, a porter, the trek permits, the Lukla flights and all meals on the trek. Hotel nights and breakfast in Kathmandu follow the package plan. The full inclusions list is on the package page and in your written quote. See also what is and is not included.
What to budget on top
- International flights to and from Kathmandu.
- Nepal visa. Our terms list the visa at about USD 40. Check the current fee and duration before you travel, as the immigration department sets it.
- Travel insurance. Cover for high altitude trekking and helicopter evacuation is mandatory and bought by you. See evacuation cost, insurance and paperwork.
- Tips of about 10 percent for the guide and porter team. See the tipping guide.
- Personal spending on the trail: drinks, snacks, showers, charging and Wi-Fi. See the pocket money guide.
- Rental or purchase of gear you do not bring.
A realistic total
Add the package price to your flights, visa, insurance, tips and pocket money to get your real trip cost. The package covers the large trek costs, so what you add is mostly travel to Nepal and personal spending. We give you the package price in writing before you pay anything.
Paying from abroad
A deposit is paid in advance by bank transfer or online card payment, and the balance is paid at our Kathmandu office on arrival in USD or another major currency. Full terms, including card fees and refunds, are on our terms page. Ask us for the payment options that suit your country when you request your quote.
Does the price change?
USD 1,699 is the standard 14-day package price. Group size, season, lodge standard and add-ons such as a helicopter return can change it, and we confirm the final price for your dates. Read what affects the cost of the Everest Base Camp trek for the reasons.
Indian citizen?
Indian travellers have a separate rupee price. See the Everest Base Camp trek cost in rupees.
