1 min read

How high is Tilicho Peak?

Published figures range from about 7,060 to 7,135 m. The height varies slightly between surveys and maps.

Can a beginner climb it?

No. It is a serious climb that needs prior experience on a 6,000 m peak and solid mountaineering skills.

How long does the expedition take?

Plan three to four weeks from Kathmandu, including acclimatisation and spare days.

Is oxygen used?

Some teams carry oxygen for emergencies. Ask your operator about its use and the safety plan.

What is the best season?

October and November in autumn, and April to May in spring. Allow several spare days.

Is it the same as the Tilicho Lake trek?

No. The lake is a trek at about 4,900 m, and the peak is a mountaineering climb above 7,000 m.

Which peak should I climb first?

Start with a lower peak such as Yala, Pisang or Island Peak, then move up.
