Our 14-day Everest Base Camp package covers the guide, porter, permits, Lukla flights and meals on the trek. International flights, insurance, visa, tips and personal spending are separate. Use this list to compare any two quotes on the same terms.
Included in the package
- A licensed trekking guide for the whole trek.
- A porter to carry your main bag.
- Trek permits and entry fees.
- Flights between Kathmandu (or Ramechhap) and Lukla, both ways.
- Accommodation on the trek in teahouses.
- All meals while you are on the trek.
- Hotel nights in Kathmandu with breakfast, as set out in the package plan.
Your written quote is the final word on inclusions. Ask us to confirm anything you are unsure about.
Not included
- International or domestic travel to Kathmandu.
- Nepal visa for travellers who need one.
- Travel insurance with high altitude and helicopter evacuation cover. It is mandatory.
- Lunch and dinner in Kathmandu.
- Tips for the guide and porter.
- Drinks, snacks, hot showers, charging and Wi-Fi on the trail.
- Rental gear, if you do not bring your own.
- Extra nights if flights are delayed or you return early.
Why the Lukla days matter
The 14-day plan has you flying out to Lukla on day 2 and returning on day 13, with no spare days built in. Weather can delay Lukla flights, and an extra night in Kathmandu or Lukla is then an extra cost. Read who pays when Lukla flights are delayed and keep a buffer day or two in your plans.
How to compare two quotes
Put both quotes side by side and tick the same items on each: guide, porter, permits, flights, meals, Kathmandu hotels and transfers. A lower price that leaves out the porter, the flights or the meals is not a lower price. See what affects the cost of the Everest Base Camp trek for the questions to ask.
Prices
The package is ₹85,000 per person for Indian travellers and USD 1,699 per person for other nationalities. See the rupee price and the dollar price.
Questions to ask any operator
Ask who holds the Lukla flight tickets, what happens if a flight is cancelled, how many trekkers each guide leads, whether the porter is shared, and whether the quote includes airport transfers and hotel nights. A clear answer on each point is a sign of a careful operator.
Costs that surprise people
Charging, hot showers, Wi-Fi, snacks, bottled water and tips are the usual surprises. Set aside a daily budget for these, and carry cash in small notes. The price rises with altitude, so plan more for the upper stages.
