Small deposit in India. Balance in Nepal.
Trek to the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary on this 14-day Annapurna Base Camp trek from Kathmandu. Ride to Pokhara, then walk through rhododendron and oak forests, Gurung villages and stone-stepped trails to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m). There, the south face of Annapurna I, the world's tenth-highest peak, rises above the glacier. A sunrise at Poon Hill (3,210m) and views of Machhapuchhre, the sacred "Fishtail" peak often called the "Matterhorn of Asia," add to the scenery.
The route is more accessible than Everest Base Camp, so it suits trekkers with a range of experience. You sleep in cozy teahouses, meet welcoming local families, and walk with an experienced guide. The extra days at the start and end give you time to rest in lakeside Pokhara before and after the trek, with a farewell dinner in Kathmandu to finish. Choose your dates and book your place.
Before you pay a deposit for your Nepal trek, read our booking terms and conditions. They explain what your trek price covers, which costs are extra, and what happens if flights are delayed or your plans change.

It combines Kathmandu, Pokhara and a 10-day trek loop. You spend two nights each in deluxe hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara, take a tourist bus between them, and trek via Poon Hill to Annapurna Base Camp and back to Nayapul.
The URL is just an older label. The itinerary is 14 days, from arrival in Kathmandu on Day 1 to departure on Day 14.
It gives you a rest day before and after the trek, time to sort gear and a soft landing from long flights. It also means two long bus days.
Day 2 from Kathmandu to Pokhara and Day 13 back are each 6 to 8 hours by tourist bus, depending on traffic and road conditions.
Days 3 to 12: Nayapul, Tikhe Dhunga, Ghorepani with Poon Hill sunrise, Tadapani, Chhomrong, Himalaya Hotel, Base Camp, Bamboo, Chhomrong and Ghandrung, then Nayapul and Pokhara.
The page lists 3 to 4 hours on the first day, then 5 to 8 hours, with Base Camp day the longest at 7 to 8 hours and about 13km.
Ghorepani 2,750m, Poon Hill 3,210m, Chhomrong 2,340m, Himalaya Hotel 2,870m and Annapurna Base Camp 4,130m (the text elsewhere says 4,237m).
No dedicated spare day is built in, though the final two days are in Pokhara and Kathmandu. Allow extra time before an onward flight.
Yes for fit people. Practise on stairs and hills, because the steps near Chhomrong and Ghandrung are relentless.
Base Camp is above 4,000m, so symptoms can occur. The route climbs over several days, and your guide checks you each evening. Descend if advised.
Avalanche and snow risk can stop progress above Deurali. In that case you may be held at a lower point, and extra days are charged at INR 6,000 each.
Airport transfers, two nights each in deluxe hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara, the tourist bus, private transport to Nayapul, lodge stays, three meals a day on the trek, a guide, porter, permits, TIMS and a first aid kit.
Meals in the cities, bottled water, tips and personal expenses. The page suggests about INR 1,000 per day.
February to May and September to December. The winter months are cold at the top and the monsoon is very wet.
We can adjust the plan, such as dropping the bus legs, but prices and permits change, so ask before you book.
Yes. Rental costs about INR 100 per item per day, so a sleeping bag and a down jacket together are about INR 200 per day. Tell us when you book and we will have them ready.
Insurance is mandatory and we ask for proof before you arrive. Check the altitude clause first, because many standard policies stop at 4,000m and this route goes to 4,300m. The insurance section of our terms has the details.
The guide raises the alarm and our Kathmandu team arranges the helicopter with your insurer. The cost, which can pass USD 5,000, is yours to claim back. Rescue is never delayed over payment.
Himalayan Wonders Adventure Pvt. Ltd. in Nepal employs your guide, porters and drivers. You can meet the team on our team page.
A deposit secures your place and the rest is due when you reach our Kathmandu office. Indian guests send the deposit by bank transfer or UPI, and guests abroad may use a transfer or an online card with a 4.5% fee. Pay the balance in INR, USD, EUR, GBP or another major currency, at the NPR conversion rate on the date of payment (local conversion charges apply). Cash saves you the 13% charged on cards in Nepal.
For the first 30 days half of it can be refunded. After that it is not refundable, but it remains valid for a year on any trek or climb we run. A no-show without contact forfeits it.
Very. You can move your departure as often as you like at no charge if you give 6 weeks' notice. With 2 to 6 weeks' notice a fee of INR 5,000 (Indian guests) or USD 100 (other guests) applies, and changes are not possible with less than 14 days' notice. If the new date costs more, you pay the difference.
No. Our staff and bookings are paid for the whole schedule, so unused days are not refunded. We will help you get home, and any extra hotel, meals or flights are yours to pay. Your insurer may cover some of it.
There is no single supplement. Rooms are shared by gender, and couples, families and friends share together. In Kathmandu you share a twin room, or get a single room at no charge if no one of your gender is booked on your dates. On the trek, rooms are twin-sharing. If you are the only person booked on a fixed departure, or you are not joining a group, a Solo Support Fee of INR 1,500 per trekking day covers a dedicated porter. If the fee is not paid and you are the only person booked on your dates, there is no separate licensed trek guide, and a porter-cum-guide leads the trek. We tell you at booking, or as soon as it arises.
Tell us your group, your dates and your budget. We will shape this trek around you.
