3 min readUpdated 23 Oct 2026By the Base Camp Hikes trek team

The best seasons for treks from Pokhara are March to May and October to November. Spring has rhododendrons and warm days. Autumn has clear skies. Winter treks are possible at lower altitudes but cold higher up. The monsoon is wet, with leeches and cloud.

Spring

March to May has flowers, warm days and good visibility in the morning.

Autumn

October and November are the clearest months, with stable weather. They are also the busiest.

Winter

December to February are cold above 3,000 m, with possible snow on the high routes. Lower trips such as Australian Camp work well.

Monsoon

June to September bring rain, leeches and cloud. Annapurna gets heavy rain.

Temperatures

At 1,000 to 2,000 m, days are mild in spring and autumn. Above 3,000 m, nights are cold. Winter nights are below freezing at higher camps.

Crowds

October is the busiest month. March and April are quieter than autumn, with flowers on the hills.
