Longer treks from Pokhara include Annapurna Base Camp (seven to twelve days), Khopra Ridge (about seven to nine days), Annapurna Panorama (about five to seven days) and the Annapurna Circuit, which takes two weeks or more and finishes in Jomsom or Besisahar.
Annapurna Base Camp
The classic route goes through Ghandruk and Chhomrong to the Sanctuary at about 4,130 m. It is a rewarding trek with steady lodges and a big finale.
Khopra Ridge
A quieter route with high ridge views and fewer lodges. It adds altitude, and the facilities are more basic.
Annapurna Panorama
A mid-length trek that links Poon Hill with ridge viewpoints, a good choice if you want more than Poon Hill but less than Base Camp.
Annapurna Circuit
The big loop, crossing the Thorong La. It needs two to three weeks and good acclimatisation.
How to choose
Pick Annapurna Base Camp for a classic, Khopra Ridge for quiet, Panorama for a shorter option and the Circuit for a long journey.
Fitness needed
Longer treks need a base of fitness: several months of hill walking, with long days of six or seven hours. Poles help on steep descents.
Combining treks
You can combine Poon Hill with Annapurna Base Camp or Khopra Ridge. It adds a few days but gives a richer trip.
