The route
The trail passes Ngadi, Bahundanda and Syange, with terraced fields, waterfalls and long suspension bridges. Jagat sits on a ledge above the river.
Altitude and health
This section stays below about 3,000 m, so altitude sickness is unlikely, though heat, humidity and fatigue still matter. Altitudes vary by a few tens of metres between maps and guidebooks.
Tips
It is a long day on a trail that shares space with a road. Many trekkers take a jeep for part of it.
Common questions
- Is there a road? Yes, much of the route has a road, so you can choose to drive.
- Why is it long? The trail goes up and down along the valley wall, and the road makes some sections dusty.
Reverse direction
Walking Jagat to Bhulbhule is the same trail in reverse. It is usually quicker because it is mostly downhill, but a long descent is hard on the knees, so poles help.
